OUGD502 - Life's A Pitch: Logo

We said we would all design some logos and decide which we liked best. We wanted our colour scheme to be bright and fun, so chose lime green, and then wanted to think of a name relating to this. Ant thought of the name 'Sublime', which we all liked so have gone with that.
Here is my development.

I thought about using a serif firstly, to contrast with the contemporary colour.

I started playing around merging letters together.

And joining them up to reflect that we are a team.

I didn't like how the L and I connected in a serif, so I tried a sans serif.

I gave up on the interlinking concept in the end because it wasn't working. It reduced legibility.

I tried blocking gaps in, but it doesn't suit a professional studio. Although fun, it still needs to look professional so that we look trustrworthy.

I tried it slanted, but just looks tacky.

Then I added round corners which looks more friendly and approachable.

I tried scaling the logo down to see how it looks. This is probably a bit small.

I added design studio underneath, which looks a lot more legit. This is what I will show tomorrow, I don't want to spend too much time on it when everyone else will have designs to show.
